Creating Your Dream Hunter Valley Destination Wedding

As far as destinations go, it’s hard to go past this little pocket of the world. The Hunter Valley is home to great food, great wine and some of the most beautiful, see-it-to-believe it natural scenery, with easy access to gardens, chapels, hatted restaurants and picturesque vineyards. It’s no surprise that so many couples from Sydney and Newcastle are choosing to say ‘I do’ here!

Benefits

  • Aside from the stunning landscapes, world-class wineries and convenient NSW location, this region also has multiple accommodation options. Large, all-inclusive resorts? Tick. Intimate villas, boutique cottages and farmstays? Literally hundreds!

  • The vast backdrop of Brokenback Mountain Range lends itself to a charming, Tuscan-esque countryside atmosphere. It’s a dream for wedding photographers too.

  • There is a real paddock-to-plate mentality, where emphasis is placed on fresh, locally sourced produce and other sustainable practices.

  • Predictable, near-perfect weather means couples can have stress-free outdoor weddings under the stars and twinkling fairy lights.

  • Your guests will be entertained. From award-winning breweries, cellar doors and eateries to hot air ballooning and other adrenalin-fueled activities, there’s something for everyone!

Key things to consider

  • Peak wedding season here starts in September and runs through until late May. While these busy months are steadily popular because of the mild temperatures, lush green hills and blooming flowers, they also book out quickly so it’s best to lock in your venue well in advance. Weekends are especially in-demand at this time of year, as are florists, photographers and other wedding suppliers.

  • On the flipside, Hunter Valley weddings during the cooler months are less popular, which means many venues offer special deals for couples who marry off-peak. Perfect for those who are budget-conscious!

  • There are lots of flexible and affordable transport options to take your out-of-town guests around, including coaches, hire cars and even horse carriages!

Where does Peppers Creek fit into all of this?

  • Our historic venue offers multiple ceremony and reception locations. The sandstone chapel is set amongst idyllic merlot vines and can be opened up at the side to accommodate more guests (and let a lovely breeze in!). The barrel room is just as breathtaking, with a rustic-meets-opulence interior and a large and inviting fireplace.

  • We have two dedicated, experienced and friendly wedding coordinators on hand to answer your questions and organise site visits.

  • The kitchen team makes EVERYTHING from scratch - no bottles or tins here! They use herbs and vegetables grown in the purpose-built sensory garden and thoughtfully design all our wedding reception menus to accommodate guests’ different dietary requirements.

  • In need of some styling inspiration and advice? Co-owner Jade is an unmatched ‘eye for detail’, working in the industry for 25 years and owning two wedding floral and styling businesses in Newcastle.

  • For those wanting something intimate and uncomplicated, our micro wedding packages have got you covered. We’ve also partnered with Pash & Dash to bring you the most romantic elopements imaginable.

  • Did we mention our venue add-ons? Lawn games, vintage furniture, lighting, a kids’ corner and gelato cart are all available for a little luxury!

  • There are 3 cosy cottages nestled into Peppers Creek village, which can comfortably accommodate up to 26 guests.
